    Dear Oktoberfest Ticket Holders,

    The clouds are parting, the 🌞 is coming, and we are so thrilled to see you TOMORROW at our GSB Family Oktoberfest, from 2-5 pm, at Taco Vista, Governors Island. Here is important information about the event:

    When should I arrive?
    Governors Island is a great, family-friendly place to explore by bike or foot so we encourage you to come early to the island. We are expecting almost 500 attendees! The event and buffet will open at 2pm and the first live performance is at 2:30pm. Buffet closes at 4pm and event wraps up at 5pm.

    How do I get to Taco Vista on Governors Island?
    Take the Governors Island (GI) Ferry from Manhattan or Brooklyn. GI ferries are free until noon and $4 round trip after 12pm. Please check out the Governors Island ferry information here. Ferries to Governors Island leave from:
    Manhattan at the Battery Maritime Building every 30 min
    Brooklyn from Red Hook/Atlantic Basin every hour
    Pier 6/Brooklyn Bridge Park every hour

    The walk from the ferry to Taco Vista is between 2 – 13 minutes, depending on which Governors Island ferry you take as there are different

    How do I get home from Governors Island?
    Here are the latest ferries home from the island:
    Manhattan-bound to the Battery Maritime Building until 8 pm, running every 30 min
    Brooklyn-bound to the Red Hook/Atlantic Basin until 5:30 pm, running every hour
    Brooklyn-bound to the Pier 6/Brooklyn Bridge Park until 6 pm, running every hour

    What’s the menu?
    GSB Parent and Host, Edi Frauneder is treating us to an incredible buffet (open 2 – 4pm)! Brats, Schnitzel, Spaetzle, Pretzels, and more! Sweets and treats are available at the bake sale.

    What activities can I expect?
    Music by GSB family DJs and two live performances! Plus tons of fun activities! Tickets for each activity/treat are for sale at the check-in desk:
    Photo Booth
    Face Painting
    Hair Braiding
    Bake Sale
    Cotton Candy
    Popcorn
    Competition and games

    Do you still need any help?
    Yes, please! We welcome baked goods to sell at the bake sale and GSB families are encouraged to sign up for a volunteer shift: click here for the sign-up sheet!

    What should I bring to Oktoberfest?
    Bring your water bottle. A water fountain is in the same building as the bathrooms; stay hydrated in the sun. Water is available for purchase at the bar, too.
    Bring a baked good to donate to the bake sale! (Please make sure all items are nut-free and packaged ready for sale)
    Sunscreen It’ll be a sunny day!
    If you will be on the island all day, you should bring your bike! There is a bike stand at Taco Vista.
